Useful Links

Here are some interesting and beneficial links that may be helpful for someone looking to eat healthy:

Learn more about Madison Area Community Supported Agriculture Coalition (MACSAC). Find information about the local CSA farms it promotes. MACSAC offers the opportunity to make donations to its Partner Shares Program. You can purchase From Asparagus to Zucchini, a cookbook that will help you store and prepare your fresh vegetables for the table. You will also find details about the Health Insurance Rebates available from Physicians Plus, GHC, Dean Health Plan, or Unity.

Wisconsin Fresh Market Vegetable Growers Association has nutritional information and links for additional recipes.

The Fresh Food Connection of Wisconsin is a group of farms in southern Wisconsin sustainably producing vegetables, fruit, meat, eggs, cheeses, canned goods, wool, and other farm commodities. The farms operate based on the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model, inviting customers to purchase a yearly or seasonal share of our production. Vegetable and egg/dairy shares are typically provided weekly or bi-weekly, and other types on a more occasional basis.

Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food is a USDA-wide effort to create new economic opportunities by better connecting consumers with local producers. It is also the start of a national conversation about the importance of understanding where your food comes from and how it gets to your plate. Today, there is too much distance between the average American and their farmer and we are marshalling resources from across USDA to help create the link between local production and local consumption.

The Midwest Organic and Sustainable Education Service (MOSES) is a 501(c)3 education-outreach organization working to promote sustainable and organic agriculture. MOSES serves farmers striving to produce high-quality, healthful food using organic and sustainable techniques. These farmers produce more than just food: they support thriving ecosystems and vibrant rural communities.

Midwest Organic Services Association (MOSA) offers independent, third-party certification services to interested producers and processors looking for a high quality, sensible organic certification program.  MOSA serves the United States and abroad, but prides themselves with their Midwest focus.  MOSA is the certification service that Forest Run Farm is using.
